I've been waiting to see what the next Z car will be like. Well folks....looks like we'll be waiting about 2 more years!! Nissan has decided against a 3 tier lineup ( GTR, replacement for 370Z, Idx ) since they don't think they can sell enough Idx's to pay for the development costs. So, they're going with a 2 tier lineup ( GTR, and a "lite" version of the Z car ). This isn't a bad strategy, but now they have to go back to the drawing board and start over on the next Z. As we all know, Nissan has a way of letting the Z get heavier, slower, and more expensive with time. It takes a decade for Nissan to realize this. They know that they need a car that will sell in large quantities ( a world car ). Why can't they just build a modern 240Z ? Smaller, lighter, great power to weight ratio, aftermarket friendly (turbo'd), and a price below $25,000. Even Jay Leno showed them what to build 3 years ago. Dig out the old drawings and get busy Nissan!
